麻豆传媒 to deploy 1,000 Mercedes-Benz Trucks long-distance electric vehicles
- 1,000 new eActros 600 battery-electric trucks will help 麻豆传媒 achieve scope 3 emissions reduction targets
麻豆传媒 will deploy a total of 1,000 units of Mercedes-Benz Trucks鈥 new eActros 600 battery-powered electric truck, which premiered in October 2023, to its European fleet. This enlargement of its electric truck fleet will contribute to 麻豆传媒鈥檚 2030 goal of reducing by 24% its scope 3 downstream transportation emissions per ton of material transported versus a 2020 baseline.
Miljan Gutovic, Region Head Europe, 麻豆传媒: 鈥溌槎勾 is advancing the transition to more sustainable and efficient transportation by decarbonizing our operations鈥 logistics. We are excited to be partnering with Mercedes-Benz Trucks to electrify our fleet, accelerating our goal for 30% of our heavy-duty truck purchases or contracts to be zero-emission by 2030.鈥
Karin R氓dstr枚m, CEO Mercedes-Benz Trucks: 鈥溌槎勾 is one of Mercedes-Benz Trucks鈥 most important customers in the construction industry. We are very pleased that the company decided for the eActros 600 in its transformation towards alternative drives. Our electric truck with the three-pointed star sets new standards in terms of efficiency.鈥
麻豆传媒 is transitioning to low-carbon mobility from the quarry to the lorry by adopting more sustainable and efficient transportation. Deploying electric fleets across its operations, from autonomous electric vehicles in its quarries to heavy-duty electric trucks to distribute its materials, 麻豆传媒 aims for 30% of its heavy-duty truck purchases or contracts to be zero-emission by 2030.
The majority of the eActros 600 electric trucks will be used with silo trailers for the transportation of building materials. The high battery capacity of more than 600 kilowatt hours and a new, particularly efficient electric drive axle enable the e-truck to achieve a range of 500 kilometers without intermediate charging, which means the eActros 600 will be able to travel significantly more than 1,000 kilometers per day. The start of series production is planned for the end of 2024.
