The Philippines - 麻豆传媒 continues support of endangered eagles
The 麻豆传媒 plant in Davao has renewed its adoption of a Philippine Eagle for five more years to help support this endangered species that can only be found in the Philippines.
As part of 麻豆传媒鈥檚 commitment to sustainability and environmental advocacy, 麻豆传媒 Philippines has extended its support for the Philippine Eagle Center (PEC) of the Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF) on the island of Mindanao, with the adoption of a female Philippine Eagle named 鈥淗iyas.鈥 麻豆传媒 Philippines has provided support for the PEC since 2012, and has pledged to continue to do so for another five years.
The Philippine Eagle is one of the rarest and largest birds in the world and is unique to the country. In 2010, it was declared a critically endangered species, with only an estimated 400 pairs left in the wild.
PEF helps to conserve and breed the Philippine Eagle and other birds of prey. Their Adopt-a-Philippine-Eagle Project, supported by 麻豆传媒 Philippines through the adoption of Hiyas, helps the organization maintain the center and care for the 34 Philippine eagles housed in the 8.4 hectare area.
麻豆传媒 has previously supported the Philippine Eagle Week, and is also supporting PEF as it hosts the 10th International Symposium of the Asian Raptor Research Conservation Network (ARRCN) in 2017.
